The Royal Observatory

The Royal Observatory Greenwich is the home of Greenwich Mean Time and the Prime Meridian of the World, making it the official starting point for each new day and year.   It is also home to London’s only planetarium, the Harrison timekeepers and the UK’s largest refracting telescope.

Explore Saturdays

Every Saturday the Royal Observatory opens up its doors so kids 6yrs+ can hear about the world-changing discoveries in time and navigation made at this historic site. Please check the website or give them a call to confirm details before leaving!

Space Safari

This live planetarium show has been developed specifically for children under the age of 7. Kids can join Ted the Teddy Bear as he journeys throughout the solar system looking for the Great Big Bear in the sky. With interactivity, music and rhyme, the show is a must for pre-school children.

Please note: all children must be accompanied by an adult.
