Nestled into a Grade 2 listed building on Nelson Road (at the site previously occupied by Bar Du Musee), Jamie’s take on Italian eating serves a wide range of food, made with great ingredients at surprisingly good value.
Split into 4 distinct areas, there is a very well stocked (and reasonably priced) Deli, a relaxing area with comfy chairs and sharing table if you want to grab a coffee with a friend, a smart bar for something stronger (mojito’s are great) and ofcourse the main restaurant with terrace out back. We reviewed them before they opened – click here to read more.

We Say…
Greenwichmums got the chance to go behind the scenes and sample the full Jamies Italian dining experience. For anyone whose used to Bar Du Musee, the previous incumbent of this space, the first thing that’ll strike you is how much of a good job they’ve done on the interior. The dark, dour, insides of BDM have been replaced with a lighter, more modern look & feel; with 4 distinct area’s including – a very well stocked deli, a relaxed area with comfy chairs and sharing table, an impressive bar leading into the restaurant itself out back which is very light and airy thanks to it’s glass ceiling. Jamie’s kept the outside seating area too but has resisted the temptation to extend it too far back – read more of our full review by clicking here.

I'm am so disappointed after eating here yesterday. Three of us went with three two year olds. The waitress forgot one of the children's meals and made her wait for approximately another 20 minutes after already waiting an hour like the rest of us for food. The general manager came over and offered to pay for all the kids menus and dessert. We were fine with this. Then the waitress came over and got the orders for ice cream but the little girl who had to wait for the food was in the washroom. She ordered our ice cream but not hers. Eventually after my friends daughter being upset and left waiting for the ice cream, the general manager said there was nothing he could do and that his waitress was not at fault because the little girl was not there when we ordered. We did not want to order without her we asked her to wait and put in the orders together but that was obviously too complicated for them. Save yourself the hassle and go to Nandos! Better food, service and quality.
We couldn't wait to go to Jamie's as a family - we've been to different 'Jamie's' around the South East and LOVE the concept... Until today!
We sat, with our table 'bleeper' at the bar tables - 'Thing No.1' put his little bottle of lemonade down on the wonky bar table the entire bottle fell on the floor.
After 35 minutes (after being told tables were being cleared and we were next up?) we were eventually taken to our table.
To say we were really disappointed about everything else is an understatement! Poor service (we were there for nearly 3 hours), starters delivered at different times, waiting staff who didn't actually know what they were talking about when it came to the menu and my children's dishes had obviously been sat under the hot lamps for far too long as it was crusty... Disappointed as it's the first time the kids and I have spent time with daddy in about 2 weeks and he was annoyed :o(
