About this event:
Festive Magic Awaits in Greenwich!
Ho, ho, ho! Are you ready for a sprinkle of festive magic? The ever-sparkling ‘Sparkle in the Park’ in the Royal Borough of Greenwich is shimmering its way back for the fourth year this yuletide season. And guess what? It’s returning to our beloved Avery Hill Park!
From the 30th of November to the 3rd of December, as twilight sets in between 4.30 and 9 p.m., Avery Hill Park is set to transform into a mesmerising enchanted winter wonderland. A treat awaits the lovely residents of Royal Greenwich! The historic Winter Garden will glow in festive lights as part of this twinkling spectacle. But that’s not all! Dive into a delightful Christmas market, whirl around a fun fair, and get serenaded by pop-up performances from our local school and community choirs. ?
No ticket? No worries! The gates to this festive wonder are wide open for everyone to step in and feel the joy. However, if you visit during the most magical (read: busiest) hours, do brace for a sprinkle of waiting in line.
A little whisper for our special friends: On Sunday, 3 December, there’s a ‘quiet hour’ tailor-made for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and those with sensory sensitivities. This hour will have toned-down noise, calm lighting, lesser crowd and just the right kind of entertainment. ?
Christmas isn’t stopping at the park, though! It’s rolling out in style across our town centres in Eltham, Greenwich, Woolwich, and even a special market in Thamesmead. Picture this: local craft, charming gift stalls, delightful food spots, kiddo’s artsy-craftsy zones, and oh-so-merry entertainment.
