About this event:
June is the month of vibrant celebration and inclusivity as the LGBTQ+ community takes the spotlight during LGBTQ+ Pride Month. The Royal Borough of Greenwich has announced a series of exciting events for residents to engage in and support. From family workshops to community initiatives, there’s something for everyone. The Pride progress flag will proudly flutter above Woolwich Town Hall, symbolizing the Royal Borough’s dedication to LGBTQ+ rights and acceptance. And the much-loved Pride Tent will make its glorious return at Together 23 in Charlton Park on Saturday, June 10th.
Below, we have highlighted some of the exciting events taking place at various libraries in Royal Greenwich throughout the month of June:
Mama G Story Time:
- Wednesday, May 31st: 10:30 to 11:30 am at Blackheath Library and 2:30 to 3:30 pm at Woolwich Library
- Thursday, June 1st: 10:30 to 11:30 am at Eltham Library and 2:30 to 3:30 pm at Plumstead Library
- Friday, June 2nd: 10:30 to 11:30 am at West Greenwich Library and 2:30 to 3:30 pm at Greenwich Library
Blackheath Library:
- A library display will be up all month.
- Monday, June 5th: Reading group to discuss a book by an LGBTQ+ author
- Every Wednesday in June, 11:30 am: Rainbow-themed messy crafts
Charlton Library
Every Tuesday in June, from 2.15 to 3.30 pm – Adult Wellbeing Space will explore the work of LGBTQ+ artists such as Keith Haring, Jan Pienkowski, Ahmed Umar and Katie Wells. Tuesday, 6 June – Design your own picture.
Friday 23 June, 10 to 10.30 am – Storytime, 10.30 to 11.30 am – Rainbow ribbon weaving Saturday 24 June, 10 to 10.30 am, Storytime, 10.30 to 11.30 am – Design your own flag
Tuesday, 27 June, 10.30 to 11.30 am – Create your own rainbow paper wreath. Friday 30 June, 10 to 10.30 am – Storytime, 10.30 to 11.30 am – Design your own picture book inspired by the book ‘And Tango Makes Three.’
