About this event:
Wassail is a traditional festival to bless the orchard and fruit trees and ask for a good harvest in the coming year. Suitable for all ages and faiths, with dancing and celebrating.
This is the 11th year we have ‘wassailed’ in the East Greenwich Pleasaunce park.
Meet at the cafe for the event which starts at 1 pm. Singing from Halstow Community Choir, Dancing by Greenwich Morris Men and a Wassail procession with drums and pots and pans (bring a drum/ rattle etc, if you can).
There’s a craft stall for making your own ‘Wassail Crown’. Hot drinks, wine, cider and freshly baked food will be available at the Cafe.
