Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day Events 2019
Royal Borough of Greenwich is marking the lead up to Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day on 10 and 11 November this year with several memorial events across the Borough, all of which are free to attend.

Plumstead and Thamesmead
Wreath-laying ceremonies organised by the Royal British Legion’s Abbey Wood and Thamesmead Branch
10.55 am – Thamesmead Clocktower
12:00 pm approx. – Plumstead Cemetery, Lodge Hill, SE2 0PB
12:30 pm approx. – Woolwich New Cemetery, Camdale Road, SE18
Charlton and Blackheath
Wreath-laying ceremonies organised by the Royal British Legion’s Blackheath and Charlton Branch
10.50 am – Memorial at Maze Hill, SE3
11:15 am approx. – St. John’s Church, Stratheden Road, SE3 7TH
11:30 am approx. – The Memorial in Charlton Village, SE7
11:50 am approx.- Charlton Cemetery Memorial, Cemetery Lane, SE7 8DZ

Eltham
10.45 am – Parade of veterans, ex-service groups and youth organisations, with a wreath-laying ceremony at Eltham War Memorial, Junction of Eltham Hill and Eltham High Street, SE9 1DH
11.00 am – St. John’s Church, Eltham Hill, SE9 1DH. Two minutes silence organised by the Royal British Legion’s Eltham and Well Hall Branch. Followed by a Remembrance Service in
Abbey Wood
Remembrance Service held by the Royal British Legion’s Abbey Wood and Thamesmead Branch
10.40 am – St. Michaels and All Angels Church, Abbey Wood Road, SE2. Then on to Abbey Wood Gardens Memorial, Rosedale Close, SE2
Monday 11 November 2019
Woolwich
11:00 am – Woolwich Town Hall, Wellington St, SE18 6HQ.
Here you can join the Mayor, for a two minutes silence in memory of those who fought and died or were injured in the causes of peace and freedom.
