Caring For Our Community, In Our Community
2019 is a special year for the Abbey Wood Hospice as it marks 25 years since they opened their doors and welcomed their first patients. 25 years on, people are still receiving expert Hospice care from specialist nurses wherever they are needed; in hospitals; wherever they call home; as well as at the Hospice itself.
Powered By Local Heroes*
The Hospice is able to do all that it does thanks to the incredible people who get involved in all sorts of weird and wonderful fundraising events; this includes the hundreds of children who have taken part in the Mini Marathon since it first started in 2013. Between them, an incredible £338,000 has been raised over the past 6 years and the hope is that more than £80,000 can be raised in this special anniversary year.
To register for the Mini Marathon families can go to the website here and Mini Marathon registration forms are also available from all Hospice shops.
This year the Mini Marathon is very kindly sponsored by JLL Property Consultants, who will be providing a goody bag for every runner.
Online registration will close at 4.30pm on Friday 3 May. There will be NO on the day registrations. There is no minimum sponsorship however any sponsorship money your child raises will help our nurses to care for our patients and their families.!
