About this event:
FREE OPEN DAY AT NEW PAULINE QUIRKE ACADEMY IN GREENWICH
The Pauline Quirke Academy is a weekend performing arts school providing tuition for children and young people aged 4-18.
Students spend three hours with us, rotating through an hour-long session in Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre and Film & Television. Students are split into groups according to their age and are taught by specialist teachers.
PQA’s core modules teach a comprehensive range of skills, which are useful for everyday life, not just a career in the performing arts, whilst masterclasses allow students to experience more specialist lessons in areas like stage combat, beatboxing, street dance and magic.
Poppets classes are specifically designed to encourage under 6’s to develop performance and communication skills as they create and explore stories, songs, roles and situations through the use of movement, dance, voice, song and teamwork.
PQA believe in rewarding and inspiring their students, so along with regular reports to monitor their progress, all students are offered group exams through Trinity College London – at no additional charge to parents.
Students also get the chance to see their short film projects on the big screen of their local cinema, where they get to walk down the red-carpet just like the Hollywood stars and have the opportunity to take part in one of the annual PQA shows in the West End.
The FREE open day will give children an opportunity to participate in taster sessions as well as offering parents an opportunity to see classes in action, ask questions and find out more about all the amazing opportunities offered by this exciting new performing arts academy.
