About this event:
For 600 years, the animals of the Royal Menagerie brought majesty, curiosity, danger and awe to the Tower of London. By 1832 they were gone – sent off to the brand new London Zoological Gardens in Regent’s Park.
This event is suitable for: 0 - 3 years, 4 - 7 years, 8 - 12 years
This event costs: Included in palace admission
During the October half term, families can bring animals back to the Tower as they explore history!
Follow a trail and draw the animals you spot around the Tower. Bring the animals right off the page at our drop-in puppet making station. Come and listen to ‘Animal Tales’, stories from the Menagerie (drop-in). Pick up your Marvellous Menagerie trail from outside the Medieval Palace or from inside the Raven Shop.
Puppet making is in the Lower Bowyer Tower.
Storytelling sessions at 12.00, 13.00, 14.00 and 15.00 in the Upper Wakefield. Sessions last for 15-20 minutes.
