We make our own traditions on the Peninsula. Wrapped up by the Thames and glittering with new homes and communities, our Christmas this year promises twist after twist on the usual festive customs. We’ve been working with Secret Productions – the team behind Wilderness Festival – to create special moments for all of you who still believe in Christmas magic.

8pm Inua Ellams
Award-winning poet, playwright and artist Inua Ellams tells Christmas stories from the point of view of an immigrant in London from a Muslim-Christian family.
9pm B.Y.O.B (Bring Your Own Brass)
Big sounds from this explosive eight-piece brass band.
A one-man tour de force, Johnny Holiday is a rocking, stomping, human jukebox armed with a guitar and an endless repertoire of hits delivered in a distinctive, gypsy-tinged style.
Storystock is a travelling circus which lands in unusual spaces to bring families stories.
6pm Natty Bo’s Calypso Christmas
Natty Bo takes us on a tour through his world-renowned collection of vintage calypso 45’s.
8pm Natty Bo and The Flames of Rhythm
The inimitable Natty Bo plays Christmas Calypso from his world class vintage vinyl collection before taking to the stage with his band The Flames of Rhythm. Not to be missed!

Christmas Carol Choir sung by students of local Greenwich schools
7pm: Kai Carter & The Debt Collective
Vintage swing, r’n’b and jazz from this phenomenal young South London collective.
Emotional but laced with wry humour, gentle but gutsy, Adam combines beautiful melodies with inventive lyrics to tackle themes of life, love, death and hope. ‘Folk stews and dirty blues’ mix Celtic folk, American blues, country and early jazz balladry.
11am & 2pm Christmas Singing Workshops with Xenia Davies
Come and learn simple and beautiful wintery themed songs from around the world in this 90 minute workshop with Xenia Davis. Think: Finnish reindeer chants, rousing South African Christmas songs, Calypso carols and traditional folky wassails. No previous experience required, and everything is taught by ear and will be simple and easy to follow.Xenia is an experienced choir and workshop leader with a warm and welcoming style and a passion for empowering people of all ages and abilities to discover their voice and sing in harmony.
6pm Sea Shanty Christmas Choir
Since their heyday between 1815 and 1870, shanties have remained a popular form of song for both sailors and landsmen alike. Explore the work-songs of the golden age of sail with Trad Academy and their resident artistic director of maritime music Pete Truin.

11am & 2pm Arcola Theatre Christmas Show
Are you needing that festive feeling but the breakfast sherry just isn’t cutting it? Is your eggnog not quite noggy enough? Are your toes not feeling the mistle? Don’t worry. In the most divine collaboration, Arcola Theatre residents Basement Orchestra are joining forces with the Spiritual Playground to bring you an extravaganza of yuletide fun and frolics that will knock you for six geese a-laying.

This troupe of amazing, world record holding hoopers, perform and teach workshops to entertain and inspire people all over the world
7pm Roundhouse Young Poets Collective
London’s legendary Roundhouse has a world renowned reputation for nurturing young creative talent. This session is curated by The Roundhouse and showcases the talent and vision of tomorrow’s generation of wordsmiths.
8pm Sea Shanty Choir

8pm Ida Barr’s Christmas Cracker
Ida Barr once was a big star in the British Music Hall. Now she’s a star again cos she’s singing the RnB music, innit. Thrill to her version of Missy Elliot’s “She’s a B*$%H” and get down as Ida drops some rhymes about the topics that matter – her home help, flu jabs, and the fall she had doing the Hokey Cokey last Diwali in her sheltered accommodation (Thabo Mbeki Court – formerly Winnie Mandela House, E9).
11am & 2pm Theatre Bugs Panto for Under 7’s (all day)
Theatrebugs perform fun-filled interactive shows and pantos in the comfort of your own school or nursery- saving you money, stress and hassle! Our shows are jam packed with song, music and interactive fun. They are written by Theatrebugs specifically with nursery and reception age groups in mind; no scary characters, lots of rhymes and songs to join in with and of course opportunities to save the day! The shows are performed by handpicked Theatrebug actors with years of experience in both entertaining and teaching this age group.
