About this event:
Children take over Southbank Centre for two weeks bursting with shows and activities for all ages.
Lift noses out of books to catch appearances and readings from top authors including Russell Brand, Judith Kerr, Lauren Child, Anthony Horowitz and Helen Skelton. Or come along and clap live performances of Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest Play, Princess and the Pea and Pirate School presented by Lost and Found.
Marvel as world-class orchestras and conductors star in classical concerts, including a child-friendly performance by 12 Cellists of the Berliner Philharmoniker. We also host the London premiere of Brundibár – a renowned children’s opera by Hans Krása, originally performed by the children of Theresienstadt concentration camp in Czechoslovakia.
The festival features a chance to celebrate the wonderful world of Alice in Wonderland on its 150th anniversary: Join us on a dance adventure at the Imaginarium of Alice; enjoy the dressing-up day, interactive installations and a game of Flamingo Croquet, part of the large programme of free activities.
Under-5s will love their specially tailored events, including Baby Yoga, Move & Shake and two shows by Half Moon Young People’s Theatre: Curious and Circles in the Sand.
With lots to see and do and a site buzzing with childish excitement, we have your half term sorted!
