I visited Black Vanilla the other day. Undoubtedly nice ice cream, but also extremely expensive. They even now charge extra on top of their usual price for things like pistachio nuts because they are 'the world's best pistachio nuts all the way from Italy" as I was told by the staff member. Really, and you put them in ice cream? And to top it all off they don't take my Mumscard like they used too either...

When the sun came out I popped to Black Vanilla after NCT class. The ice cream is nice but too expensive to make it a regular stop. Was a bit tight getting my pram in too. Sorry!

Feel a bit bad here as the ice cream (sorry Gelato!) is nice, but I found the place quite intimidating with too much to choose from. Plus it's so expensive, and getting in and out with my buggy was terrible. It's a real squeeze and we had to go round out the back then double back round to reach the front door when we wanted to leave. So, not very mummy friendly really.

We had our first of many visits today and I have to say I was very impressed. The staff are very friendly and we quickly discovered they have a lovely little garden seated area out the back! Pram access was OK once you passed the crowds eyeing up the ice cream.. Baby change facilities unfortunately could not be found however my make do attitude of using the spacious toilet area did the trick. A must visit if you partial to the delights of ice cream at it's best!!

Definitely a 5 star business. The icecream and sorbet choice is fantastic. the Passion Fruit sorbet was delicious and my partner chose a great strawberry sorbet; from there we were encouraged to try several others and each flavour was a sublime experience of flavourful magic! Each and every taste was perfume to the senses! The Sorbets cast a spell on us and we stood transfixed by the range of choices the exotic natural colours and ingredients provided. The lovely friendly staff gave us an experience which was almost unworldly and exceptional at all levels - Neither of us had experienced such quality before in both ice-cream and sorbet. Some ethereal Magician has cast a unique spell it seems at Black Vanilla! Delightful choices to enhance any celebration table even for calorie counters - there seems to be something for everyone!
