The Royal Borough of Greenwich has many strong long-standing links with our Armed Forces. From Maritime Greenwich through to the Barracks at Woolwich and the old munitions factories on the new Riverside Development of Berkeley Homes.
Its also something we’re very passionate about here at Greenwichmums too, Personally one of the highlights of my childhood Summers would be Airborne Forces Day. Jumping out of pretend planes and tackling some really high obstacles. Every year, it gave me a better understanding and an appreciation of my fathers choice to serve his Queen and country. Armed Forces Day, Armed Forces ,Day, Armed Forces Day
Armed Forces Day is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up our Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets. You can get involved by attending an event or throwing a party or local event yourselves.
If you’d rather attend an event then the best locally would be the combined Armed Forces Day and Great Greenwich Get Together in Woolwich. Split between two sites, Berkeley’s Royal Arsenal and Woolwich Town Centre, including Powis Street and General Gordon Square. The event will run on 30th June in General Gordon Square from 12:00 – and 18:00 and from 12:00 – 20:30 at The Royal Arsenal.
This year its an absolute packed line up of entertainment, music, activities, carnival and workshops.
