Chances are you’ve just logged in to the e-admissions website and you have your first choice school – and congratulations if you do.
But what if you haven’t… – What next.
Firstly don’t panic- the cynic in me feels that they publish results online and email in the evening so that they do not need to fields calls from angry parents who do not have their first choice. As disappointing as it seems not to have gotten in – sleep on it you may feel differently in the morning.
Remember you must send a response to your offer – if you don’t Greenwich will not know if you are accepting your place or not. Unless you have your first choice and which point Greenwich assumes an automatic acceptance from you. responses should be sent by 30th April.
If you decide to not accept and would like to appeal there are lots of helpful and sometimes free resources and organisations to help with this.
the most well known is the Coram’s Children’s Legal Centre. Take a look at this handy fact- sheet and this “How to Guide” walking you through the appeal process.
If you do decide to appeal you must ensure that Greenwich admissions service receives this by the 14th May to enable them to make a final decision in June and July.
Lastly it seems a silly thing to point out but…Its not your schools fault – admissions are controlled by Greenwich Council and at times I’m sure that even they are astounded at some outcomes that they see! However they may be able to help with an appeal, such as helping with supplementary statements if you need them.
Good luck everyone!
