About this event:
Dive in and dig up the clay ‘quarry’ located on the Peninsula with The People’s Brick Company!
Get the children to mould the clay into a unique brick and stamp it with their initials. Their ‘Peninsula Bricks’ will be left to air dry on the rack in the gallery over the summer, forming a constantly evolving display – a production line of thousands of handmade bricks.
Also take part in the brick firing, when a kiln will be built in a public celebration on 17th September, using the wood from the racks as fuel. Once fired, the bricks will be made into a permanent folly, serving as a reminder that architecture can be simple and inclusive.
Come and make your ‘Peninsula Brick’ for FREE from 24th June- 18th September, excluding Monday & Tuesday’s.
For school bookings and large groups please call in advance to arrange.
Details are subject to change so please make sure you check with the venue before setting out. Thanks!
