Review: Jack and the Beanstalk

JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, greenwichmumsGreenwich Theatre is arguably the best off West End venue by a clear country mile. It’s outdone itself yet again with its Christmas offering, filled with everything you’d expect from a Christmas Panto with traditional gags and modern musical twists.

Credit to Andrew Pollard for another entertaining piece of theatre well written and directed full of plots, comedy and music. It’s no surprise that this is his 9th panto year! Here comes Trotty – and what a hotty!

Jack and the Beanstalk is a must do if you are a local family or even if your not so local, we had a chap from Maidstone in our audience. Along with grandparents and babes in arms, toddlers and ten year olds. Our twins were laughing most off the way through except for when they were singing! look out for Giant Bonecrunch’s impressive and unexpected appearance and special mention should go to lampshade, sorry Nightshade for his particular brand of swagger.

So When your 4 year old’s greet you the morning after panto with My names Jack sing it back JacK, Jack, Jack. you know that something special has happened you know that Jack is with you for Christmas and maybe most of January and thats how good Panto should be memorable for the all the right reasons!

Our top tips – get your snacks before you go to your seats and the WC’s by box office seem to be less busy especially if you’ve kids in tow.
