Road Safety Week

Road Safety Week, greenwichmumsRoad safety week takes place from 17-23 November.

Dangers such as fast drivers and lack of safe crossing places for pedestrians blight communities across the UK. Road Safety Week is the ideal opportunity for you to ‘tune in to road safety’ and put an end to road deaths and injuries in your region by running your own Road Safety Week activities, campaigns or events.

The theme of Road Safety Week 2014 is ‘look out for each other’, raising awareness of the ways everyone can help protect one another on roads, especially the most vulnerable. Brake will particularly call on drivers to protect kids and adults on foot and bike by slowing down to 20 in communities.

Road Safety Week is all about schools, organisations and communities taking action to promote road safety and help save lives. Each year thousands get involved and you can too. There are endless ways to take part, from promoting the ‘Brake Pledge’, to putting up posters, to running a workshop or assembly, to launching a local campaign for safer streets.

Register now to be emailed a FREE action pack (sent from September onwards) packed with resources and advice to help you take part. It includes downloadable posters, web banners and other tools to help you raise awareness, plus ideas and examples of activities you can run in the Week.
