February the month of love, pancakes and half term. In the US it’s also national bird feeding month. Something close to my heart and although I’m not a closet bird watcher – I have watched closely these past 2 weeks as the owners of the East Greenwich Powerstation have removed the beautiful climbing vines which covered one side.
Home to many species of birds, who are without homes this spring. So we decided to give the Sparrows and Jays a helping hand with some special Greenwichmums fat cakes. IMAGINE CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL – Monday 11th – 24th Feb the 2013 Imagine Kids Festival – sponsored by the Book People – is all about the kids taking over! The Southbank Centre will be transformed BY children FOR children, as well as hosting the top names in children’s literature, dance, theatre and art. Enjoy free activities throughout the festival or just take in the atmosphere as children run the show! Then join the Greenwich Market Shrove Tuesday Pancake Race and raise money for Macmillan. Teams of 4 can flip their way to the grand final. Please bring your own frying pan. Be still my beating heart – finally TK Maxx opens its doors this Thursday 14th at 9am and show how much they love us they are giving away £10 vouchers to the first 500 through the door. Feel like having a party, what about a Poetry Party? – then join Greenwich Theatreon the 19th & 20th of February for a riotous word party with poetry pass-the-parcel, nursery rhyme hats, haiku balloons and going-home poems. The show, aimed at children aged 5-8, but suitable for all the family is a celebration of words, with live music and lots of interaction for the little people.
