School Uniforms can be overwhelmingly overwhelming. Here’s our list of everything you’re likely to need. If like us, your school has no uniform then use the same list for a base set of “school only clothes” saving the very best togs for occasions and weekends.
Work on the one in one out principle so if you ever need the spare you know it’s in the wardrobe! Take a look at our list below and make sure you’ve not missed anything off your list!
Uniform checklist
- Four shirts or polo shirts or blouses
- Boys – two pairs of trousers, one pair of shorts
- Belt if needed or opt for adjustable waistbands
- Girls – two pinafores/ skirts/trousers (depending on school rules and preference)
- Jumpers – one with a logo on if needed and one for spare
- Shoes
- Socks (all the same colour)
- Lightweight waterproof coat (foldable)
- Colder Weather Coat
- Summer hat if needed
- Woolly hat and gloves in the school colour ie navy
- Tie if needed
- Blazer if required
- Craft bibs (can also be used for meal times)
- A gym bag or plain drawstring bag
- Plimsolls/trainers
- Shorts or Jogging bottoms
- T-shirt (check school for colours allowed)
- Extra gym socks (for girls who might be wearing tights that day)
- Swimming kit or other sports kit as required
- Name labels or laundry pens
- Bookbag (usually sold by the school or given to Reception classes for free)
- Lunchbox or thermal lunch bags
- Small sports water bottle for lunch and to refill throughout the day
- Pencil case with pencil, pen (school might specify the type), coloured crayons, ruler, pencil sharpener, rubber
- Music bag / musical instruments e.g. recorder, violin
- A rucksack to carry it all in!
