Pat yourself on the back Greenwich parents as the Department for Education (DfE) has published 2018’s SAT’s results, with Conway Primary, Meridian Primary and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Primary, joint top three in the borough with a whopping 90%
The average percentage of kids in Greenwich who achieved the standard was 70 per cent compared to an average of 64 per cent nationally. This is up from 61 per cent of pupils who met the standard last year across England. You clever, clever lot!
Tests were taken earlier in the summer term by Year 6 pupils who will have now moved to secondary schools.
The expected standard is based on a series of national curriculum tests at the end of Key Stage 2 for mathematics, English reading and English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Student’s scores are then scaled because despite tests being developed each year to the same specification, questions are different and the difficulty of tests may vary.
Once a score is scaled it will fall somewhere between 80 (the lowest score) and 120 (the highest score). Score 100 and above and your child will have met the expected standards. 99 or below meaning the student has not reached the expected standard.
Here is a list of Greenwich primary schools and the percentage of kids reaching the expected standard.
